Gibson Dunn joins the US$3m per head group on partner profits

The 1,200-lawyer firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has seen equity partner profits rise three per cent over the last year, taking them from US$2.9m per head to $3.05m.

Revenues rose by six per cent at the 18-office international practice to a total of $1.47b. Revenue has been rising in each of the last 19 years at the Los Angeles-based practice. The firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice accounted for 60% of income. 

Shearman profits

At Shearman & Sterling, profits per equity partner rose by 5.8 per cent to reach $1.9 per head - on the back of a 9 per cent rise in turnover. Turnover was $845m in 2014. Source: Legal Business
