Seywarth highlights rise of US disability access claims

Disability claims relating to ramps and other forms of access rose 55 per cent in the year to June 30, according to an analysis by Washington DC-based Seywarth Shaw.

Nolan Klein, a lawyer based in Florida who acts for businesses in these cases, said: ‘Most small businesses don’t have legal departments to oversee this stuff. If you drive along the coast in Florida, say, you pass a string of small hotels and motels with pools.
