13 Ohio coronavirus cases now traced back to January

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — At least 13 cases of the coronavirus have been traced to beginning in January, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

While the state’s data show none of those first cases resulted in any deaths or hospitalizations, they do indicate the virus was established in Ohio earlier than initially thought.

Increased antibody testing has allowed health officials to learn more about the disease and how long it has been spreading.

The onset of the first known case in the state came on Jan. 2, involving a Warren County woman in her 40s, cleveland.com reported.

There were three cases in January in both Warren and Montgomery counties and two in Miami County.
