Today he was supposed to walk at his Yale graduation. Instead, he and the ‘coronavirus class’ are watching on a screen.

On Monday, Max Graham was supposed to walk in the commencement ceremony on the campus of Yale University. But, like graduations in high schools and colleges across the country, Graham’s isn’t happening the way he had long imagined.

With the coronavirus pandemic closing schools and reshaping public life, schools are instead holding graduation ceremonies in other ways. Many are having virtual events, with student participation limited to watching on a screen.
