Ralph W. McGehee, who joined the CIA out of college as a gung-ho Cold Warrior, became disillusioned during the Vietnam War and emerged as a prominent critic of the agency after publishing the memoir “Deadly Deceits,” died May 2 at an assisted-living facility in Falmouth, Maine. He was 92.

The cause was covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, said his son Dan McGehee.
