WASHINGTON (SBG) - The lives of Americans have been impacted in so many ways from the coronavirus pandemic and while this uncertain time may seem unbearable, acts of kindness, scientific developments, and remarkable stories of recoveries emerging from around the country have helped to cast light in a time of darkness.

A robot developed at a medical school in Maryland may hold the key to ramping up testing for COVID-19. Dr. Jacques Ravel who works at the University of Maryland School of Medicine says the robot can process 96 tests at a time, which is more than any human could do.

In San Antonio, Texas, a brother and sister have been hard at work spreading some love. The siblings, freshman college student Sarah Estrada and sixth-grader Pedro Estrada, have made over 900 cloth for first responders and the general public.

Meanwhile, a 94-year-old resident of a nursing home in Rhode Island made a remarkable recovery after catching coronavirus. Staff who helped care for Fannie Martini say she my be "short in stature, but she's not short in spirit."
