Wake Up Call: Bankrupt Pharma Co.'s Lawyers Oppose Fees for Cole Schotz

  • Bankrupt Synergy Pharmaceuticals Inc., represented by New York firms Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, Kirkland & Ellis, and others, asked a federal bankruptcy court to reject a request to pay $112,000 to Cole Schotz, which is representing some shareholders. Lawyers for the gastrointestinal therapy developer said the administrative fee request by New Jersey-based Cole Schotz should be rejected, because the firm doesn’t have standing to bring such a claim under bankruptcy law.
