Omnicom Doubles Down On India Investments

Omnicom said it is opening three new India campuses, in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Gurugram. A fourth location will be opened in Hyderabad in October.

The holding company said the new facilities are designed to accommodate Omnicom's expanding footprint and global capabilities and will house over 5,500 employees, including specialists in media, creative, data and analytics, digital commerce, marketing technology and artificial intelligence.

India is the eighth largest ad market according to GroupM’s latest global ad forecast.

In a recent earnings call Omnicom CEO John Wren said he expects the company’s operations in the country will triple in size over the next two to three years.

Much of the work there will support clients globally.

"Our India operations are helping us transform from within, improving our client offerings and providing operating efficiencies. We are rapidly scaling and will continue to increase the number of colleagues in Omnicom's Global Solutions Centers over the next few years, making them a key component of Omnicom's growth."

The move follows Omnicom’s creation last fall of Omnicom Advertising Services group in India led by CEO Aditya Kanthy, who is also CEO of DDB Mudra Group. Other agencies in the Advertising Services group include BBDO and TBWA.

The Advertising Services group works closely with other Omnicom operations in the region including Omnicom Media Group India, which has been led by Kartik Shama since 2020.

Vishal Srivastava is the Head of Omnicom Global Solutions (OGS) India.
