Guillaume Musso’s latest mystery, The Secret Lives of Writers, which is set in the Mediterranean, debuted at the top of the French fiction bestseller list late in April; Little, Brown is Musso’s U.S. publisher and is releasing The Reunion in July. Thriller writer Jean-Christophe Grangé returned to the list in the #3 spot with The Last Hunt, the finale of his Pierre Niémans trilogy. He has been published by HarperCollins in English.

Andrea Camilleri, who is 93, led the combined bestseller list in Italy in April with the short pulp novel Kilometer 123, a departure from his hugely popular Inspector Montalbano series set in Sicily and published by Penguin in English.

Camilla Läckberg’s The Golden Cage was the bestselling fiction title in Sweden, #2 on the list in France, and #6 on Italy’s combined list. Knopf just acquired U.S. rights to Golden and a second book from Läckberg. In the second spot on Sweden’s fiction list was Anxious People by Fredrick Backman, author of several U.S. bestsellers, including A Man Called Ove. His latest in translation, Things My Son Needs to Know About the World, was just published by Atria.
