Guyana is off the beaten path, tucked away in the northeast corner of South America east of Venezuela. The country is home to lush green jungles and Kaieteur Falls, the largest single-drop waterfall (by volume of water) in the world. Caribbean Airlines and Copa Airlines are offering airfare deals to Guyana's largest city, Georgetown, from various U.S. cities starting at under $400 round-trip.

Sample flights

The following flights are economy on Caribbean and Copa Airlines. Most of the deals below on Copa include a layover in Panama City (PTY) or Port of Spain (POS) in Trinidad and Tobago on Caribbean Airlines.

One of the most affordable deals is from Atlanta (ATL) to Georgetown (GEO) throughout March at $317 round-trip with a stop in Panama City each way on the Copa Airlines booking, which is on partner United Airlines.

Even though there is a Little Guyana neighborhood in Queens, travelers can fly to the actual country's capital from New York (JFK) to Georgetown (GEO) for $360 round-trip. The departure flight at the end of March is nonstop, but the return has a long layover in Port of Spain (POS) on Caribbean Airlines.

From the West Coast, there are flights available from Los Angeles (LAX) to Georgetown (GEO) for $398 round-trip on Copa Airlines for travel from the end of April to the beginning of May with a layover in Panama City.
