Freeborn Partners Recognized as 2021 New York Metro Super Lawyers®

NEW YORK  Freeborn & Peters LLP announces that Partners in the firm’s New York office Jon Schuyler Brooks, Kathryn T. Lundy, and Marc B. Zimmerman have been recognized as New York Metro Super Lawyers® for 2021.

“We congratulate Jon, Kathryn, and Marc on their well-deserved recognition by Super Lawyers,” said Freeborn’s New York Office Managing Partner Sean T. Keely. “This accolade reflects their continued dedication to our clients, as well as their daily commitment to excellence in their practice.”

Jon Schuyler Brooks, recognized for Environmental, is a Partner in the Litigation, Real Estate, and the Environment and Energy Law Practice Groups. He advises real estate clients (developers, owners, landlords, tenants, managers, lenders) about environmental aspects of transactions. Jon takes a comprehensive transactional – rather than mere regulatory – approach to environmental issues, bringing value added to his clients; for example, structuring deals to maximize benefits from governmental programs, such as brownfields and Opportunity Zones. Jon also advocates for clients in commercial and environmental litigation matters in both trial and appellate courts.

Kathryn T. Lundy, recognized for Employment and Labor, is a Partner in the Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Groups and a member of the Consumer Products Industry Team. Clients count on Kathryn to litigate particularly high stakes disputes, including the defense of claims ranging from sexual harassment and discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour and breach of contract. Kathryn has also counseled and litigated a broad array of matters to secure emergent relief to enforce restrictive covenants and protect their rights under the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA) and related state laws.

Marc B. Zimmerman, recognized for Employment and Labor, is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group, Leader of the Labor & Employment Practice Group and a member of the Consumer Products Industry Team. Marc advises clients on a wide range of labor relations and business issues, including wage and hour compliance, classification issues, restrictive covenants, discipline, management training, policy development, reductions in force, investigations, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower and unemployment claims. Marc has represented employers in hundreds of actions, including administrative hearings, arbitrations and lawsuits.

Published by Thomson Reuters, Super Lawyers determines its rankings through independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations, and only the top 5 percent of lawyers in New York receive this recognition. The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazines as well as in regional magazines and newspaper supplements in New York. The lists also are distributed to attorneys and ABA-accredited law school libraries.
