A team of cross-country arbitration defenders from two major U.S. law firms have assembled in an attempt to block a new California law barring arbitration agreements as a condition of employment.

Mayer Brown partners Donald Falk from the Palo Alto office and Andrew Pincus and Archis Parasharami from Washington, D.C., sued California officials in federal court on Friday on behalf of the U.S. and California chambers of commerce.
