Sears’ lawsuit against rival retailer gets tossed

A lawsuit accusing a group of appliance retailers of using confidential information to try to poach licensed dealers working with Sears does not belong in Illinois, a federal judge held.In a written opinion last week, U.S. District Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman dismissed the suit that Sears Authorized Hometown Stores LLC filed against Nationwide Marketing Group LLC.Coleman held the federal courts in Illinois lack personal jurisdiction over Nationwide, based in Winston-Salem, N.C.Sears alleges a former employee downloaded …
