Robert Cohen discussed the growing number of special acquisition purchase companies (SPAC), which allow private companies to bypass traditional initial public offerings. “Generally, it is a process where the company doesn’t think that the time or market reception for an IPO would be there,” said Cohen. “I don’t think anybody sees this as a magic bullet, but it is an option.”
