In his recently published article, “Legacy lab,” about the options for run-off in the United States, Freeborn Partner and Insurance and Reinsurance Industry Team member Sean Thomas Keely explores whether individual U.S. states have yet to prove themselves to be productive laboratories for legacy reinsurance solutions, while suggesting there is momentum toward legislative and regulatory solutions for legacy business. In particular, Mr. Keely’s article addresses the hope for progress in regards to potential insurance business transfer transactions.
