A group of Big Law’s best-known M&A brands pitched in on a pair of newly announced pharmaceutical deals, the latest in what’s been a year full of major deal work for large firms working in this space.

Covington & Burling advised Merck & Co. in its $2.7 billion acquisition of ArQule Inc., which was represented by Skadden. Arps Slate Meagher & Flom. Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson represented BofA Securities, which served as financial advisor to Merck.

In a separate deal, Weil Gotshal & Manges advised French drug-maker Sanofi in a $2.5 billion deal to acquire Synthorx Inc., ...
