Congratulations to Orrick tax partner Peter Connors on being appointed Chair of the Nominating Committee of the American College of Tax Counsel.

The American College of Tax Counsel is a professional association of tax attorneys. Membership is an honor reserved for those at the top of their profession. The College's members, known as “fellows,” are tax lawyers working in private law firms and in house legal departments, teaching tax in law schools, or working in federal or state revenue agencies. They are recognized for their extraordinary accomplishments and professional achievements and for their dedication to improving the practice of tax law. Membership into the College is by nomination and election only; self-nomination is not permitted.

A fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel for more than a decade, Peter was unanimously elected to the position of 2nd Circuit Regent in 2015. With the recent election, he will continue in that position for a second term ending in 2021. In this role, he serves on the Board of Regents as a representative of the 2nd Circuit. As Chair of the Nominating Committee, Peter will identify fellows and officers for the American College of Tax Counsel.

Peter focuses his practice on cross-border transactions. He also has extensive experience in related areas of tax law, including asset securitization, financial transactions, corporate reorganizations and private equity investments. He currently serves on the Executive Committees of the New York State Bar Association and the International Fiscal Association, and previously served as Vice Chair-Committee Operations of the American Bar Association’s Tax Section and a member of its Council. He currently is on the Appointments to Tax Court Committee of the American Bar Association Tax Section.
