Inside JJ Redick’s gorgeous Brooklyn penthouse now listed for $7M

Now that we’ll be seeing more of retired NBA star and sports analyst JJ Redick on ESPN, will we still be seeing him around Brooklyn?

The answer is yes.

Redick is listing his designer duplex penthouse in Dumbo for $7 million — down from its $8.5 million ask last year.

The 3,000-square-foot property, which has been featured in Architectural Digest and renovated by Michael Aiduss, is at 51 Jay St. in a seven-story converted former warehouse designed by ODA.

Redick and his wife Chelsea Kilgore bought the unit for $6 million in 2017.  Since then, the neighborhood has become a bit of a sports hub.

Redick recently interviewed NBA Nets star Ben Simmons — who is in contract to buy a Dumbo condo, as Gimme Shelter exclusively reported — on “The Old Man and the Three,” a podcast that Redick co-hosts with Tommy Alter. Simmons told Redick why he left the Philadelphia 76ers and called out Shaquille O’Neal for “hating” on him; Shaq then told Barstool Sports that he doesn’t need to hate on anyone.

But just because Redick and Kilgore listed their penthouse doesn’t mean they’re going far. Redick — the former star of the New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks, Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers, to name a few in his stellar 15-year NBA career — and Kilgore bought a townhouse nearby in Cobble Hill.

It’s near their children Knox and Kai’s school — and sold for around $9 million, sources tell Gimme Shelter.

The penthouse comes with four bedrooms and 4½ baths. It features white oak herringbone floors, white lacquer with glass trim pocket doors, brass fixtures, traditional French moldings and archways, as well as a wall of casement windows.

There’s also a dazzling “Aegean blue” chef’s kitchen with bronze and marble accents, and a stunning 2,500-square-foot landscaped wrap terrace across both floors.

One of the bedrooms is currently set up as a home office, while the second floor has a guest bedroom suite. Glass doors from the upper-floor bedrooms lead to a wrap terrace.

Building amenities include a double-height lobby, a concierge, a gym with a yoga room, a children’s playroom, a residents’ lounge, a rooftop terrace and a landscaped central courtyard.

Rachel Greenstein, of Compass, has the listing. In a statement, the brokerage told The Post, “When we launched, the market was stronger, but with intense competition from surrounding new developments and a spike in interest rates, it was time to recalibrate to new realities. Since the apartment was repriced, we have seen a substantial uptick in showings.”
