Lovers of midcentury modern style find joy in a home’s butterfly roof, post-and-beam construction, and large glass windows. But over the decades, the interiors of some stunning houses are updated without thought, ripping out original bathrooms and kitchens and replacing them with more contemporary elements.

That’s not the case with this four-bedroom, three-bath Eichler-inspired home about 45 minutes northwest of Atlanta. The three bathrooms still have the tile and vintage brass fixtures from 1954, and even in the bedrooms and bathrooms, large windows maintain an airy feel.

The architect is unknown; according to listing agent William Bedgood the home was built in 1954 by an engineer who moved to Marietta from California to work for Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin). The current owners bought the home in 1980 from the original owners and haven’t altered the house much.
