Here’s a condo that veers off the beaten path. If you’re bored with exposed brick and ceiling beams and cookie-cutter finishes, take a gander at this South Slope duplex, whose interior design looks to have been inspired by Gaudí, or maybe Lewis Carroll. It’s at 372 15th Street in the Park Pavilion condos, one of three buildings with a combined 30 units, constructed in 2003.

As for the look of this one, where to begin? Maybe with the pink stove? The pink kitchen island with gold sink hardware? The Japanese Ofuro soaking tub made in walnut, with a matching sink as broad as a tabletop?

The gallery of wild wallpapers? The playful lighting fixtures? The ruby bathroom sink topping a bookmatched burl vanity?

Regarding the particulars, it’s a duplex, with a first floor upper level and a lower level that’s below grade in front, but opens to a private patio in the back. (Quite a nice one, by the way, with wooden accents and a “living wall” that the listing describes as “award winning.”)

It’s set up as a one-bedroom, with the living space downstairs, with a sleeping alcove that can be enclosed by a retractable wall, and a movie screen that “descends with a touch.” There’s an office down here as well, with a built-in desk and a cool custom shelving unit with a geometric design.

The bedroom is upstairs, adjoined by a dressing room that leads to the en suite bath. In the rear are the kitchen and dining room, with a door that leads to a shared garden. Seems like a good setup for this space, though you could fashion it as a two-bedroom if you wanted.

Common charges and taxes come to $1,035 a month. The unit itself, listed by Halstead brokers Xanthe Tabor and Kris Sylvester, is asking $1.725 million. Which is not cheap for a place with a single proper bedroom and a subterranean level.

The condo has got some choice features, though — not ones that will appeal to every buyer, but it only takes one. What do you think of it?
