Jan M. Hayden Elected to American College of Bankruptcy Board of Directors

Jan M. Hayden of Baker Donelson has been elected to the American College of Bankruptcy's 2018 – 2019 Board of Directors. The newly elected leadership was voted in at the College's annual meeting held in March in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Hayden is a shareholder in the Firm's Financial Services Department and has handled bankruptcy and insolvency issues for her clients for more than 35 years. Her practice is concentrated on assisting clients with restructuring and creditors' rights both in and out of bankruptcy proceedings, and she has represented creditors and debtors in mass tort bankruptcies.

A Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, as well as the American College of Bankruptcy, Ms. Hayden has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1993 and in Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers since 2010. Louisiana Super Lawyers has listed Ms. Hayden among the top ten attorneys and top 25 female attorneys in the state of Louisiana. She has also been recognized as "Woman of the Year" by New Orleans City Business and was honored with the "Leadership in Law" award by the publication. In 2016, Ms. Hayden was named a recipient of The Center for American and International Law's (CAIL) Michelle Mendez Serviam Award, which recognized bankruptcy professionals in the Fifth Circuit who have demonstrated persistently exceptional contributions to others in the bankruptcy profession and community.

The American College of Bankruptcy, formed in 1989, is an honorary association of approximately 800 U.S. and international bankruptcy and insolvency professionals, including lawyers, judges, professors and financial advisors. Fellows of the College are invited to join based on a proven record of the highest standards of professionalism and service to the profession and community. Ms. Hayden was inducted as a Fellow of the College in 1997.
