Lawmakers Sound the Alarm on Seafood Traceability Concerns in Letter to FDA
Several senators are taking the Food and Drug Administration to task on seafood traceability.
Sens. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and other colleagues sent a letter to FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf this week, urging the FDA to retain and strengthen seafood traceability rules. Strengthening these rules will ensure Americans are consuming safe, legally caught and honestly labeled seafood, the senators said in a press release.
