Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik's political action committee has sought to help GOP women running across the country.

Over the weekend, her PAC sent a fundraising email in support of someone closer to home: Republican former Rep. Claudia Tenney.

"Claudia is a passionate attorney, a successful businesswoman, and a loving mother," the fundraising note said. "She raised her son, who serves in the Marine Corps, as a single mother while running her small business."

Tenney is running for the seat she lost to Democratic Rep. Anthony Brindisi in 2018, a district adjacent to Stefanik's North Country House seat that covers the Mohawk Valley and the Southern Tier. The district is considered a top target for Republicans to flip in 2020 given President Donald Trump handily won it in 2016 and he will be at the top of the ticket this November.

Stefanik's fundaising note made note of the president's support for Tenney. Trump had previously traveled to the district to fundraise for Tenney, and members of the president's family have campaigned for her.

"She is endorsed by President Trump and our House Republican Leadership because of her proven record of leadership and getting things done for the American people," the email said.

Stefanik is again facing this year Demcoratic candidate Tedra Cobb in her bid for a fourth term.
