STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Staten Island continues to see its share of closures, as well as event postponements and cancellations, as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Here are the latest updates for Monday:
- Taste of India II in New Dorp will be closed April 1 to 21.
- “Get Grounded,” an Earth Day Yin yoga workshop at the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art scheduled for April 20, has been canceled.
- The Beer Garden will be closed Monday, March 30. It will re-open Tuesday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

THURSDAY, MARCH 26
- Girls World Expo events planned for the remainder of the year have been canceled.
- A poetry workshop, planned on Thursday, March 26, with NYSAI Press and Project Lab, has been canceled.
- An open mic event marking the New York Public Library’s 125th anniversary, which was scheduled to take place Saturday in the Stapleton branch, has been canceled.
- The Health Department has suspended restaurant inspections for the time being.
- The 20th Anniversary GRACE Gala, held by the GRACE Foundation for April 18, has been rescheduled to Friday, July 24 at the Vanderbilt.
- The Walk for GRACE, held by the GRACE Foundation for May 3 at St. John’s University, is rescheduled for October.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25
- New York City’s playgrounds could soon close if residents don’t start complying with social distancing protocols, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced.
- The third annual Beeping Egg Hunt for the Blind and Visually Impaired is canceled with no rescheduled date at this time.
- The L’Dor V’Dor Luncheon at the JCC on Staten Island, originally set for April 26, is canceled.
TUESDAY, MARCH 24
- Passover services in temples and synagogues canceled
- Staten Island Railway reduces service, set to run every 20 minutes during rush hour
MONDAY, MARCH 23
- New York officially “on pause” with all non-essential businesses shuttered
- A Sanitation Department garage in New Springville has been temporarily closed due to a positive test for the coronavirus, according to Councilman Steven Matteo.
- Wagner College postpones commencement ceremony for 2020 graduating class.
- Laundromats on Staten Island reduce hours, limit services for customers.
- The state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced that all offices and auto bureaus will be closed until further notice due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
- The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games are going to be postponed, likely to 2021, with the details to be worked out in the next four weeks.
FRIDAY, MARCH 20
- Open house tours have moved online, according to Staten Island real estate agents.
- Hair and nail salons, barbershops and tattoo parlors must close by 8 p.m. Saturday
- Historic Richmond Town’s grounds remain open and accessible to the public but all programs and buildings will be cancelled/closed through Friday March 27.
THURSDAY, MARCH 19
- Chase Bank is temporarily adjusting hours, changing procedures and closing some branches. Go to http://chase.com/branch to find updated information about a branch or ATM near you.
- Adobe Blues is closed until further notice.
- The Staten Island, Queens, and Yonkers E-ZPass Walk-In Centers will be closed through March 31.
- The St. George Theatre’s 90th Anniversary Red Carpet Gala and Benefit Concert, originally scheduled for Friday, May 1, has been postponed until Saturday, Nov. 14.
- Fiorito’s Bella Famiglia at 725 Forest Ave. will be closed Thursday, March 19.
- MakerSpace in Stapleton announced its temporarily closure Thursday, March 19.
- Ghostlight Productions will postpone its production of “Little Women” at Historic Richmond Town.
- The Spring Luncheon honoring Marian McNamara, R.N.,M.S.N. and Luz Captain O’Day , sponsored by the Sea View Auxiliary planned for April 23, 2020 will be postponed until October 1, 2020.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18
- The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere announced it will cancel all cooking and language classes, cultural events and fundraisers until the end of March.
- William H. Pouch Scout Camp in Sea View has closed for the remainder of this month and all of April.
- IRS has delayed the tax payment deadline, but taxes must still be filed by Wednesday, April 15.
- Con Edison has temporarily shut down its customer service walk-in centers located in each of the five boroughs and Westchester County.
- On Your Mark annual Spring Gala will now take place in the fall at The Hilton Garden Inn on Friday, September 4, 2020.
- Applebees in Charleston is closing until further notice.
TUESDAY, MARCH 17
- More restaurants have embraced curbside pickup and delivery-only options. Here is a list of Staten Island restaurants making the switch.
- The Stone House and Violette’s Cellar are combined for the purposes of take-out and delivery. Everything will be produced at Violette’s Cellar (2271 Hylan Blvd.) for pickup and delivery through online ordering platforms. This menu will begin Wednesday at noon.
- Visitor centers and facilities run by Gateway National Recreation Area are closed until further notice.
- The New York state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has moved to appointment-only service. Customers are advised to complete transactions online. The website offers more than 60 transactions and services, including options to renew or replace a driver license and/or vehicle registration, obtain a driving record (abstract), change your address, or make a payment.
- Community Board #1 Staten Island employees will be Teleworking. The 1 Edgewater Plaza Suite #217 will be closed. Closing the office and utilizing teleworking practices will in effect reduce human interactions thereby lessening the risk of spreading COVID-19. The office staff will communicate via email and telephone.
- Wagner College closing residence halls for remainder of semester.
- Staten Island University Hospital has placed a ban on hospital visitors for its Ocean Breeze and South Shore sites effective at 9 p.m. Tuesday.
MONDAY, MARCH 16
- All NYC schools closed, at least until April 20.
- Bars and restaurants in the NYC area reduced to take out and delivery.
- Programs and events at Gateway are temporarily cancelled through March 29.
- The Staten Island Museum in Livingston is temporarily closed.
- Casinos, gyms, movie theaters, bars and restaurants to close tonight in NY, NJ and Conn.

FRIDAY, MARCH 13
- All NYPL locations are temporarily closing on March 14 through March 31.
- New Dorp High School is closed due to coronavirus
- The Gay St. Patrick’s Day Dance at Labetti VFW Post in Rosebank, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed.
- Staten Island Arts’ screening of “Woman on Fire” has been postponed.
- The Pride Center of Staten Island is suspending all in-person activities from Friday through March 23.
- On Your Mark Cafe will be closed from March 16 to tentatively March 27.
- Hamilton Park House Concerts has canceled its performance featuring Kenny White, scheduled for Sunday.
- Mount Loretto’s Easter at the Mount, which was scheduled for April 11, has been canceled.
- The Community Agency for Senior Citizens, Inc. (CASC) annual spring luncheon scheduled for April 29, has been postponed.
- Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden has postponed the majority of their public programming, including the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art’s gallery hours, until March 31.
- Juicy Lucy BBQ (809 Father Capodanno Blvd) set to close its dining area “until further notice” after Saturday, March 14. The restaurant will be open for select deliveries.
- The College of Staten Island’s CPG Gallery will be closed through Sunday March 28th.
- The Staten Island Economic Development Corporation is making major changes to the 2020 schedule for all events planned through June 30th. All Member Mixer & Meet the Staff session at Casa Belvedere, planned for March 19th, will be cancelled. All member events will resume later in the year. SIEDC Executive Committee & Board Meeting, planned for April 2nd meeting, will now be conducted as a conference call. SIEDC Business Conference, planned for April 23rd, will be postponed and rescheduled to the fourth quarter. All meetings scheduled for that day will be rescheduled as well. SIEDC Business Conference Press Conference, scheduled for April 2nd, is cancelled. SIEDC Business Council Meeting, scheduled for May 7th, will be rescheduled to a future date. SIEDC Cabinet Meeting, scheduled for May 13th, will be rescheduled to a future date. SIEDC Executive Committee & Board Meeting, scheduled June 4th meeting, will likely be changed to a conference call. Details will be sent out closer to that date. SIEDC Chairman’s Cup Golf Outing, scheduled for June 18, will be postponed and rescheduled.
- The Staten Island Running Association, in consultation with the Notre Dame Club of Staten Island and the Bread of Life Food Drive, will be postponing the March 22nd Bread of Life Food Drive 5K.
- Congressman Max Rose’s Staten Island, Brooklyn and Washington, D.C. offices will temporarily be closed for walk-in appointments. This policy will be re-evaluated weekly.
- Staten Island Justice Center has decided to postpone its April day of service.
