To the Editor:

After reading Gary Weinstein’s letter on President Trump and Rep. John Katko (“Hundreds of prosecutors would indict Trump ... but not Katko," May 10, 2019), I have to say I am just flabbergasted by his comment on Katko’s stellar history as a federal prosecutor. Really? You actually called gang members ”indigent, hapless, inner-city men"! What rock do you live under? These “hapless” men, women, and, yes, children, are gang members. People walk the streets of this city every day in fear of being on the receiving end of the violence they perpetrate. If you think they are so “hapless,” I invite you to go live in one of the many neighborhoods of this city where the violence escalates every single day.

I am not a Trump supporter, but I do give credit where credit is due. Thank you, Rep. Katko, for getting as many of these “terrorists” off the street as you could! Wake up, Mr. Weinstein. You just defended criminals in your hatred for the opposition.
