Unity is definitely a theme that will strike a chord with Freshman Congressman Anthony Brindisi.

The Utica Democrat whose district includes Binghamton has announced that he will sit with his Republican colleague John Katko of the Syracuse area for the speech.

“We’ve got to find ways to solve some of these issues.  Whether it’s on border security, we have to avoid another shutdown, whether it’s on things that the President campaigned on like infrastructure.  That’s something that I’ve talked about a lot throughout my time both at the state level and throughout the campaign.  We need to fix our roads and bridges, it’s a major thing and I think we can find some agreement on that,” Brindisi says.

Brindisi has invited as his guest to tonight’s speech Chief Master Sergeant John Jones, a 25 year veteran of the Air Force and Air National Guard.
