WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. John Katko will host a public forum on agriculture Tuesday in Wayne County as Congress begins work on the 2018 farm bill that sets the nation's agricultural policies.
The forum will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Wayne County Public Safety Building, 7376 State Route 31, Lyons.
Katko, R-Camillus, said he wants to hear from local farmers and growers who are part of Wayne County's agriculture economy. The forum will feature a panel discussion moderated by state Assemblyman Bob Oaks, R-Macedon.
The panel discussion will feature Julia Foster of the USDA's Farm Service Agency in Wayne County; Zach Debadts, president of the Wayne County Farm Bureau; Cynthia Haskins, president of the New York Apple Association; and Brian Pincelli, director of the Wayne County Economic Development and Planning Department.
