Sex-harass accuser says lawyer who quit on Gov. Cuomo’s team should be ‘disbarred’

One of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s sexual-harassment accusers said his outgoing lawyer should be “disbarred” over her key role in the scandal that’s under investigation by the Attorney General’s Office and part of an impeachment probe.

Former Cuomo aide Lindsey Boylan responded to special counsel to the governor Judith Mogul’s resignation in a tweet that trashed her efforts on Cuomo’s behalf and called for the revocation of her law license.

“Judith Mogul has left her work defending and enabling serial sexual harasser and abuser @NYGovCuomo,” Boylan wrote Wednesday night on Twitter.

“Next she should be disbarred.”

Earlier this year, Boylan, 37, published an online essay in which she accused Cuomo, 63, of repeatedly harassing her, leading to a flood of similar allegations from current and former aides.

They include ex-Cuomo aide Charlotte Bennett, 26, whose lawyer has accused Mogul and then-chief of staff Jill DesRosiers of failing to report Bennett’s allegations to the state Government Office of Employee Relations.

Lawyer Debra Katz said Mogul and DesRosiers engaged in a “clear derogation of their legal duties” that prevented an investigation and allegedly “fostered a toxic culture of enablement and abuse” by Cuomo.

Bennett, who has accused Cuomo of “trying to sleep with me,” on Thursday retweeted posts that included comments on The Post’s report about Mogul’s impending departure.

“It cannot get lost that [Bennett] did what victims are ‘supposed to do’, she reported to the proper channels,” self-described rape survivor and activist Alison Turkos wrote.

“Yet had a door slammed in her face and was told ‘we have to wait for it to get worse’ or ‘it’s not that bad’. Cuomo in power means he’s actively perpetuating harm.”

In response to Katz’s April allegations, Mogul said, “The statements and actions attributed to me are false and I stand by my prior statement that I acted consistently with the information Charlotte provided at the time, the requirements of the law and Charlotte’s wishes.”

DesRosiers, who went on maternity leave in December, hasn’t commented publicly.

Mogul, a former federal prosecutor-turned-white-collar criminal defense lawyer, was hired by Cuomo in 2019.

Her annual salary in fiscal 2020 was $173,400, according to the SeeThroughNY website.

The sexual harassment allegations against Cuomo are under investigation by outside lawyers hired by state Attorney General Letitia James and are also part of a wide-ranging impeachment probe by the state Assembly Judiciary Committee.

Cuomo, who was apparently interviewed by James’ investigators on July 17, has publicly acknowledged that he “acted in a way that made people feel uncomfortable” but denies having “touched anyone inappropriately” or other misconduct.

Mogul was interviewed by James’ investigators and is leaving her post next week, according to the New York Times, which first reported her resignation.

Mogul didn’t immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi said Wednesday that Mogul “had previously planned to leave government in spring of 2020” but “selflessly extended her state service for more than a year to help manage the pandemic — and we are grateful for that.”
