New York Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul came to Yonkers Thursday to thank the New York National Guard troops and health-care workers vaccinating residents against COVID-19 at the Yonkers National Guard Armory. She also delivered an important message to all Yonkers residents, “It’s your turn to walk in and get your vaccine.”

Thursday was the first day that anyone 16 and older could just walk-in for the COVID-19 vaccine, no appointment needed at the Yonkers Armory Mass Vaccination Site and all State run vaccinationlocations. Assemblyman Nader Sayegh and Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins joined the Lieutenant Governor at the event.

Assemblyman Nader Sayegh said, “You can just walk-in and get your shot and your second dose will be scheduled as well. Now, there is no excuse for not getting vaccinated against this life threatening disease.” Public health officials are urging everyone to get vaccinated to protect themselves, their family and friends, and community.
