ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) In New York state government news, Stephanie Miner and Marc Molinaro are wasting no time pouncing on Gov. Andrew Cuomo following his big win over Cynthia Nixon in the Democratic primary.

The two gubernatorial candidates both blasted Cuomo for his efforts to curtail government corruption, likely the first of many attacks on the incumbent now that the governor's race has entered the general election phase.

Molinaro is the Republican executive of Dutchess County and Miner is a former Syracuse mayor running as an independent.

Meanwhile, Republican state Senate Leader John Flanagan says New Yorkers should be "scared to death" after liberal challengers prevailed in several state Senate races. Flanagan says his party will fight hard to prevent the chamber from falling into the grip of people he calls "radicals."
