STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The recently-minted Democratic candidate vying for Staten Island's congressional seat, Max Rose, was the featured subject of a brand new feature on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert": The Uninformed Correspondent segment.

Airing on Friday night, the seven-minute bit introduces Bootsie, the "uninformed" Colbert reporter -- a producer's mother from Long Island -- and places her at a fundraiser for Rose hosted in a private home on Staten Island.

After attempting interviews with attendees on the mid-term elections, North Korea and "snowflakes," Bootsie "grills" Rose.

The pair close by singing "Ooh Child" by the The Five Stairsteps.

Rose will face Congressman Daniel Donovan, a Republican, on the November ballot. Both men had strong showings in their respective primary races, with Donovan fending off a high-profile challenge from former congressman Michael Grimm, and Rose capturing more than 60 percent of the vote in a race that included five other candidates.

Both have also raised more than $1 million, with funding pouring in from outside of the district.
