CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Several changes will happen for Craighead County voters in November since the county received new voting machines.

According to Kade Holliday, Craighead County clerk, one big change is that there will be voting centers rather than polling locations come election day.

For voters, that now means instead of voting at an assigned polling place, the new equipment will pull up any ballot throughout the county. That means voters can go to the closest location instead of a location they're bound too.

Holliday said he believes the new feature will be more convenient for voters.

"That's one of the things we hear a lot from citizens is well, why would I want to go to this place that's my assigned voting center when I'm going to drive past two when I get there," Holliday said.

Holliday added some polling locations will close and relocate but did not give specifics.

He said his office will work closely with the election commission to send out that information before November.
