McCabe Curwood names two new principals

McCabe Curwood has expanded the senior ranks of its insurance group with the appointment of two new principals.

The firm has elevated Brian Trist within the insurance property liability and indemnity group. It has also recruited Peter Miller from Clyde & Co.

“We continue to grow our insurance practice with the addition of Brian Trist and Peter Miller as principals. Their appointment aligns with our vision to build our insurance practice organically and strategically through lateral appointments,” said Scott Kennedy, who heads the firm’s insurance group.

“Brian is an outstanding property and construction lawyer with a strong client following. He is an excellent mentor to junior lawyers and this is a well-deserved internal promotion to principal,” he said. “Peter Miller is a well-recognised casualty lawyer who joins us, bringing with him a diverse portfolio of clients. This is a testament to the high regard he is held in by his clients. Peter adds further strength and depth to our insurance team with his 16 years of experience.”

Miller said he looks forward to building on his practice and also helping others build theirs within the firm’s insurance group.

“I know many of the team members here at McCabe Curwood already, and I know I’ve joined a firm with a good culture and a common goal. The firm is an ambitious one, and I’m excited to be a part of the next phase,” he said.

Last week, McCabe Curwood announced plans to create a “Future Workplace” in a revamp of its Sydney office model as the firm listens to clients and its millennial lawyers. The newly merged firm promoted 35 last month as it vowed to expand in Sydney and beyond.
