(August 14, 2019, New York) — Steptoe & Johnson LLP is pleased to announce that Nate Kritzer has joined the firm’s Complex Commercial Disputes Group as a partner. He will be based in Steptoe's New York office.
Kritzer is a seasoned trial lawyer with a consistent track record of achieving favorable results for clients. His numerous wins for clients in the last two years alone include total defense victories in four different cross-border securities matters, winning dismissal on the merits of multiple securities class action lawsuits against major US companies, winning dismissal of all claims on appeal in a trade secrets case, winning a seven-figure judgment on behalf of an investor in a securities purchase dispute, winning dismissal of four separate consumer class action lawsuits, defeating class certification in another consumer class action matter, and securing dismissal of multiple shareholder derivative lawsuits involving three different companies.
In addition to this spate of recent victories, Kritzer has tried multiple commercial litigation cases successfully, including as first-chair trial counsel. He has also argued and won appeals in the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York (bankruptcy matters), and New York State's Supreme Court Appellate Division.

Kritzer earned his B.M., magna cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif, and served as contributing editor for the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. Upon graduation, Kritzer received the Saul L. Nadler Memorial Award for outstanding achievement in commercial law, corporate law, creditor's rights, and securities classes.
